Finding the most suitable keywords is one of the major factors in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) that can boost the website ratings, determined by a search engine, of your webpage. The keywords of your website should have a close relation with the content so that it can help the search engine understand what your website is all about. Optimizing the keywords in your website is the best way to attain a good traffic, which is also the key for ranking well in Google as well as in other major search engines. Also study the keywords used by other competitors’ websites.
The popularity of your keyword that is, does the users search for your keyword, and the competitiveness are two major factors to be kept in mind while choosing keywords for website. In competitiveness you may have to focus on the research of - is there other websites using your keywords and how many specific and unique keywords do you webpage holds.
There are many specialized tools in SEO that helps in determining the competitiveness and popularity of your keywords. Word tracker tools are available online that helps to track the keywords which are often used by the Internet users. These tools will give you a log report mentioning the priority of each word for searchers. These reports with keywords of log statistics programs display the most frequently typed keywords by the users. The use of such keywords will help them find your website and promote your website for a better ranking. Looking for such keywords using these log statistics program or server logs will give you a clear idea about keywords which in turn help in bringing your website among the top list of websites.
The latest SEO technique, white hat SEO top-left-down method, will help in optimizing the keyword using the most appropriate keywords for your website. The top left down keyword optimization strategy has just two steps for a successful keyword optimization. The first step in this is the keyword selection, which need to be selected by keeping a clear idea about what is your website explains and then research for the priority words used by the customers for searching. Then prepare a list of keywords based on the above studies.
The second step is keyword optimization, where the selected keywords have to be sorted according to priority starting from top left to downwards. The top left keyword in the series will be given more weight by Google and other search engines. Thus sorting the keywords in the descending order of their priority is a good practice in SEO. Moreover, these selected keywords have to be applied to the appropriate pages such as title tag, header tag, and meta tags. The method of stuffing HTML tags with keywords which has no match with the actual content of the website can mislead both the search engines as well as the users. You are also permitted to use the keywords repeatedly, but make sure to avoid spam.
Some of the relevant factors about these keyword used by the search engines are the keyword density, the place where it appears in the body text and tags, and the mode of arrangement of these keywords according to the relation to one another.

Most people don’t like change. It means having to re-adjust routine, change habits and throw your order of process into upheaval. You are leaving your comfort zone. Most people don’t want to do this, so those people fail. Even when that change could mean something GOOD people balk.
Internet marketing is no different. You get used to doing something one way, you use the same ad sources for your marketing, you go after promoting the same products, and your web pages even start looking the same. I have heard this saying from just about every successful business person I know:
If you keep doing what you are doing . . . you are going to keep getting what you are getting.
When my income, my web site’s activity (visitors) and my fulfillment hit a plateau and I wasn’t at my goal, I knew I had to do something different. I totally believed in what I was doing, I enjoyed it, but it became routine. When that happens a complacency takes effect and it’s picked up in your written content, your follow ups, and even phone communication with your customers.
Somehow, you realize that you have gotten away from your purpose, but you are doing everything you know to do, and nothing new and exciting is happening. This also happens when you TRY to do something different, but slide back into the same habits and routines because they are COMFORTABLE. Even seasoned internet marketers run into these roadblocks.
When I began working on Single-Parents-Help.com, I was excited. It wasn’t because I saw all this potential money in it, because the site really wasn’t about income. The subject matter of that site was something I was passionate about because its focus was on helping people that felt they couldn’t help themselves.
I began working on the site, but I was getting lost. I had to stop and take a step back.
It was starting to look and read like an internet marketing site. It looked good, but it was not appealing at all to single parents who would come looking for help and support. It looked like I expected them to BUY something!
So I scrapped it. I went to visit various single parent support sites, like parentswithoutpartners.org, and single.parents.about.com. As a relatively new single parent myself, what would I look for if I went online looking for help or direction?
That’s when I felt it. And that’s when I began re-writing content. I took the focus off attracting sales (which was evident all through my text), and instead stressed the position single parents found themselves in, and how to get out of the rut. I wrote from a single parent’s point-of-view, not from a marketer’s point of view. Then I realized something!
I REALLY DID want to help people! I had been there! These people weren’t looking for money! (Well, not JUST money). They wanted someone to understand!
In getting down to communicating, you sometimes have to insert a personal empathy for the situation your target visitors are experiencing. I knew what it was like to have a car repossessed. I knew what it was like to have to ask to borrow money to pay bills, yes! I was an internet marketer, I was successful and made five figures in sales and went down to nothing over a period of three years because my routine changed. I no longer had a home. My family was breaking up and my kids were hurting . . . we no longer had health insurance. My whole security was gone! I came THIS CLOSE to falling apart.
That’s what most single parents deal with on a day to day basis and this was HARD for me to write about. I had to leave my comfort zone and talk about things I don’t talk about. (You don’t talk about personal tragedies on a website about making money!)
Now even though this is a rather extreme example of fear of change, but it was an eye-opener and a wake-up call.
When your main focus is on obtaining sales, it’s going to be evident in your web content, your newsletters, your follow up emails, etc, etc. Take a step back and look at what you are doing.
What are you offering people? What will spending money at your site help them with?
Now take the last part of that last sentence. That should be your focus . . . What are you going to help them with?
If you change your action sentences from You need to buy . . .You will have . . .you will not only see a jump in interest to your site, you will begin to see longer visits, more newsletter subscribers, and more people linking to your web page.
Give a little something. You don’t want to just take money from people, there’s no fulfillment in that. You want people coming back because they believe you. They trust you. Make them feel good about purchasing from your site. The more you give, the more you will get in return and the more fulfillment your business will give you.

Using PHP for Website Navigation, Explained.
By: Craig S. Freshwater, Webmaster/CEO http://www.newcybertech.com
http://newcybertech.com/Blog/2006/04/15/using-php-for-website-navigation-explained/
PHP can be very useful in your webiste design, I use PHP for my websites difficult functions such as forums, blogs, chat, user forms, and shopping cart interface. But did you know you can use simple PHP for your website navigation systems?
The use of PHP for your websites header, left side navigation, and bottom of page information can be a great asset. Now I know what you are thinking, PHP can be complicated and intimidating to many of you, but first let me explain.
Using simple PHP include commands is a method any webmaster at any expertise level from novice to expert can implement with ease.
Most find editing PHP a frightening endeavor, but never fear, I will show you how.
A lot of us still use tables when designing our web pages instead of CCS, below is a veiw of the basic setup I will be discussing in this article:
Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/images/Artica1.jpg
As you can see from the image above, all the content surrounding the main content of each page will be shown in PHP and this is what this article is all about. The benefit of this technique will be when you update any of the surrounding PHP files, the results will be reflected on every page on your website that you have setup in this fashion. This sounds great right, but hold on, there is one more benefit.
You may say the same thing can be accomplished with robot include commands, but there is a catch to that.
The problem with the robot include command is that this content can not be seen by search engine robots. We all know that content is king to achieving high search engine rankings, so why hide the content you have? Thatâs why what I am about to teach you and using PHP for your website navigation is so important.
âAll the information and links included in your navigation PHP can be seen and indexed by all the search engine robots for higher rankings.â
Now on to how it all Works:
Please read below if you need this information, if not browse down to the steps to generate PHP navigation on your website.
PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, better known as PHP, is a highly popular, server-side scripting language that can be embedded directly into HTML coding.PHP can do anything that CGI can do, such as process form data and auto generate dynamic content, but PHP can do much more.It can be used on all major operating systems and supports most web servers.PHP is used by inserting PHP code inside your web pageâs HTML code. When the page is called, your server automatically executes the code. Whatâs more, your visitors donât need any special plug-ins for the code to run, as it will be displayed just like your HTML coding. As PHP is a server-side scripting language, although your visitors will not need to install any new software, PHP must be set up on your server.
Following is a very simple script that will test your server to ensure PHP is installed. It is a standard PHP function called phpinfo, which instructs the browser to print out information in regard to the set up of your server.
To use the script, simply copy the following three lines of code and paste them into a plain text editor, such as Note Pad.
Save the file as phpinfo.php and upload it to your server where you store your HTML files.
To run the script, simply point your browser to the script address. It should look something like this:
wwwdotyourdomaindotcom/phpinfo.php
If PHP is installed on your server, you will be presented with a page of information about the PHP installed on your server.
If PHP isnât installed, you will be prompted to download the file. In this case, youâll need to contact your web host and ask them to install it, as it is free to download and install.
You can learn more about PHP and download it at
Steps to generate PHP navigation on your website.
First of all you need to enable create a php file with html includes using the php include function. This is easily done by adding one line to your .htaccess file for your apache driven site and have php parsed in html files. To do this logon to your websites FTP account, go into the .htdocs file, find the .htaccess file, edit it to add this one line of code to the file:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html
With that, you can have php blocks parsed in your html files so long as you put the php code in php tags. Example below:
php Code:
We will get into how to use the above command a little later in this article .
Now on to the steps:
Step 1.
Build the the following pages in your favorite HTML editor:
A. header.html
B. left.html
C. bottom.html
D. right.html (optional)
Or you can name these files what ever you like, but I will be referencing them as the above for this article. Once you have these pages built to your liking, we now start implementing with PHP. First build a new Index.html page, you can name it TEST or something until you get it the way you want it. Set it up with tables to look like the page below:
Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/images/Artica2.jpg
Step 2. Now here is the trick, rename each HTML page you just built, âheader.html, left.html, bottom.html, and right.html (optional)â to the .php file extension. You can do this by opening each .html file in a text file editor such as Notepad and save as .php to the same directory as the .html files on your server. You will now have a copy of each file in HTML and PHP format.
Step 3. We are now ready to use the new PHP files, in each table around your main content we will insert the Command functions.
See example below:
Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/images/php.jpg
Step 4. Open your new index page in your favorite browser and you will now see all the HTML pages you built come together as one page by using PHP.
Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/newcybertech.jpg
Step 5. Editing the new PHP navigation pages is easy, all you need to do is edit the HTML file you built in you favorite HTML editor. When your are done just copy the pages HTML and then paste it into the corresponding PHP file. To do this open the PHP file with a text editor and replace the HTML with in it with the edited version of HTML and save it as .php again. Now your PHP file is updated to match your edited HTML file.
In conclusion:
Now when ever you update your website header and navigation pages the results will be reflected on every page on your website that you have setup in this fashion. And as a added bonus all the information and links included in your navigation PHP can be seen and indexed by all the search engine robots for higher rankings.

Selecting a good domain name is the key factor for attaining a better page ranking. The most commonly used aspect while choosing a domain name is the usage of keyword in the URL. You can take the idea of selecting a domain name that has low competition but with good demand can ultimately help in Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
There are many factors to keep in mind while naming your domain. A good domain name should be short and easy to spell by the users. By avoiding long domain name will help the searchers to find your website and also to remember the name much easily. The keyword used in your domain name can be descriptive to help the internet users to memorize.
Make sure to include the domain name that is unique and at the same time keyword rich. Usage of more keywords in your domain name will help in a better ranking which in turn may also help the searchers to find your website. The use of more than two keywords can bring a negative impact, as it can make the domain name lengthier and the chance of misspelling is more. So it better to use a maximum of two keywords. Another drawback is that it can also make your email address long. So it is recommended the use of shorter and catchy domain names.
Among a large number of steps while choosing a domain name, the most important and foremost one is whether you are choosing a free or paid domain. In all these, give consideration to the customer so that your potential users can find your website.
Another important factor to be remembered in domain naming is the use of hyphens (-). If you are using two or more keywords, without separators, as your domain name it can be interesting, but at the same time the search engine may consider it as a single keyword. In this case, it is advised to use hyphen to separate the keywords. But for internet users the domain name without hyphen will be easier to remember and the one with hyphens tend to bring confusion for the users. A main solution for this issue is that you may use hyphened domain name during the registration with a search engine and for online advertising. At the same time go for a domain name which uses no hyphen, so that it may help the people who prefer just keywords during the searching.
Taking these tips into consideration will help you in selecting an excellent domain name for your website. You can register multiple variants for your website at the price of a single domain name. Also, make sure to avoid the use of numbers in your domain name as it may prevent confusion. In place of keywords you can also use some unique brand names for your website
Selecting a good business and domain name can draw a good traffic, and makes the entire process of optimization much easier. All you require is a shorter and unique web address that can bring your website among the top listing.

As an Adsense publisher, I am often annoyed to find my web pages filled with public service announcements (PSA) and ads unrelated to the content of my site. Fewer relevant ads means fewer click-throughs and ultimately lower Adsense revenues. However advanced Googleâs contextual ad serving algorithm may be, it is still a computer program (as opposed to a human being) trying to figure out what a web page is about.
Below are some tips to help you optimize your pages to make them more Adsense-friendly. Note that these tips deal with ad delivery rather than ad formatting or placement. While ad formatting and placement may affect ad click-through rates, they have nothing to do with the delivery of relevant ads to your site. Your site must display relevant ads before they have any chance of being clicked on.
1. Avoid too much content on a page
If Adsense does not understand what is your page is about, it cannot deliver ads targeted to its content. Although a human being can easily tell what a web page is about by taking a glance at it, computer algorithms are no so intelligent. If your page contains too much content, chances are that it also contains too many seemingly unrelated keywords. Adsense becomes confused and displays PSAs or ads unrelated to the topic of your page. Try dividing the page into smaller ones, each focusing on just a few related keywords.
2. Avoid too little content on a page
If your page contains lots of graphics and very little text, Adsense may have a hard time figuring out what it is about. This is especially true when the bulk of your content is derived from graphics and scripts. When possible, use text rather than graphics to display website names, page titles, and headline texts. Make certain to include your keywords in the title of your page and repeat them throughout the page. Avoid hiding your text through sneaky tactics, such as using tiny fonts or making your text the same color as the background. This may be construed by search engines as spam.
3. Repeat keywords that you are targeting
Keyword repetition makes it easier for Adsense to decipher what your page is about. Do this in moderation as excessive repetition may be considered spam by the search engines. Excessive repetition may also make your writing sound awkward to the human reader. Instead of repeating the same keyword more than 5 or 6 times on a page, use synonyms and related keywords. For example, instead of repeating âAdsense optimizationâ 20 times, you might try alternative phrases like âincrease Adsense revenuesâ or âearn more from Adsenseâ.
4. Avoid acronyms
I once wrote an article on pay-per-click advertising for one of my sites. When I uploaded the article to my site, I was surprised to find that all of the ads showing on the page were for Apple computer products and had nothing to do with pay-per-click. It later occurred to me that instead of repeating âpay-per-clickâ over and over in the article, I used the acronym âPPCâ numerous times. As it turned out, âPPCâ also stands for âPowerPCâ, Appleâs line of Power Macintosh computers, which explained why I was getting all the Apple related ads. When I replaced all the âPPCsâ with âpay-per-clickâ and âpay per clickâ, the problem went away.
5. Choose keywords with commercial value
You may get public service announcements rather than paid ads if your page deals with a subject matter whose keywords no one bids on. A remedy for this is to incorporate keywords with commercial value into your manuscript. For instance, if your page is on some obscure medical condition, you might try sprinkling a few drug names into your document to make it display paid ads rather than PSAs.

Through observing business people who have been successful, and how they achieved their success, I have concluded that there are a number of factors that must be present for business success to occur. As I like to keep things simple, these success factors can be condensed into a formula. It is:
Success = Startup Business Person + Product/Service + Market
Let us look at this formula in a little more detail. Firstly, what is success? The definition of success depends on what you want to get out of the venture, that is, what your goals are. Business success usually means creating a viable entity (business) that returns its investment and earns a profit.
Appropriate and realistic goals include to be challenged, to achieve, and to build something good. For example, your definition of success could be to earn $100,000 a year from your home business so that you can replace your full time job income.
The most crucial element of the above formula is the “Startup Business Person”. This element decides all the others.
Ultimately, a successful startup business person is someone who opens, manages and runs a successful startup business and can repeat the process. This is someone who has accepted the responsibility and learned how the job is done.
Successful startup business people usually always start small and grow the business. They do not have too many irons in the fire at once so that their efforts are not diffused. They give it everything they have and believe that hard work counts. They try repeatedly until they achieve the success they are looking for. Moreover, most of all, they possess a positive mental attitude.
They have learned to emulate success. Do you know what emulate means? To emulate means to attempt to equal or surpass. In other words, if you were to attempt to emulate someone else’s success, you would imitate them and as you gained further knowledge and skill, you would attempt to do better than them. Remember that emulation takes things one step further than imitate.
The next part of the formula is “Product/Service”. Without something to sell, there can be no business. Generally, the product or service needs to be of a high quality. It also needs to be something that people are prepared to pay for.
The last component of the formula is “Market”. A successful business person knows who their market is and how to reach it in the most cost effective manner. The market is defined as the people who want and are prepared to pay for the product or service.
I would now like to run through with you what I consider are the basic principles of home, small or online business success.
Believe in Your Product or Service
First, you need to believe in your product or service. If you do not believe in it, you will have a great deal of difficulty selling your product or service to other people. You also need to have confidence in your ability to provide and promote your product or service. An old saying sums this up best: “All things are possible to he who believes”.
Aptitude for the Business
Secondly, you need to have an aptitude for the business. You will also need the motivation to acquire at the very least basic skills and experience before you start your business. If you were to set yourself up as a home electrician but did not have any skills or training in this area, then you will almost certainly fail. However, if you are employed as a bookkeeper and you enjoy the job, then setting up your own bookkeeping service would be a sensible choice with a greater chance of success.
Be Responsible
Thirdly, you need to be responsible to your customers. This is achieved by only making commitments you can keep and by not engaging in misleading or dishonest advertising. If you want to build long term success in your home business, then you need to develop long term satisfied customers. When their needs are being satisfied, customers are at their happiest.
Aim for High Quality
The next principle is that you need to have a high quality product or service. This will be your best advertisement. Inferior quality products usually generate poor customer satisfaction. A dissatisfied customer can be very dangerous for your business. Usually they tell on average about fourteen other people who will then be disinclined to buy your product or service based on the experience of that one dissatisfied person. Therefore, always aim for a top quality product or service.
Make a Profit
However, it is not enough to have a top quality product or service. You also need to have a product or service that will generate enough income to cover all your business expenses and give you a satisfactory wage. A friend of mine once said that business is only about two things: satisfying customers and making a profit. A simple statement but very true.
Sufficient Startup Capital
You also need to have access to enough cash to set up and run your business, and enough income to meet your private expenses during the startup phase. A major problem with many home and small businesses is that they fail to have enough money available to ensure their success. There is nothing more discouraging than having a great idea, getting it started on a shoestring, not being able to expand due to cash shortages and seeing a competitor come along and steal your market.
Start Small
Another fundamental principle of home business success is that you start small. This will enable you to minimize your overheads until you are confident of your success in the marketplace. For many of you, this would mean starting part-time while retaining your full-time income source. When you can, expand your business into a full-time venture. This is a great way of minimizing the risk of failure.
Be Well Organized
Successful home businesses are well organized. They have a system for keeping track of expenditure and earnings. This level of organization in your business will help to ensure that you are providing your customers or clients with a top quality product or service. It will also ensure that you have enough information available to maximize your profitability and to satisfy your legal requirements for record keeping.
Be Prepared
Preparation is another important ingredient in your business success. This preparation will include being aware of the regulations and laws affecting small, home or online business in your area or country. Armed with this knowledge, you should not have any nasty surprises from unintentional violations of the law.
Have a Business Plan
Finally, successful home businesses have developed a comprehensive business plan. This is their road map to success. It tells them where they are going and how they are going to get there. It is very useful for comparing actual performance against what you planned and enabling you to make adjustments to lead to greater success. There are many useful software packages available to assist you with your business plan preparation.
